PHI 2397 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Company Town, Golden Rule, Counterargument
Document Summary
If the company fails, the family will suffer, employees will lose their jobs, and whole company to(cid:449)(cid:374) (cid:449)ill (cid:271)e (cid:449)orse off, a(cid:374)d espe(cid:272)ially those (cid:449)ho (cid:449)ere poor a(cid:374)d u(cid:374)e(cid:373)ployed prior that (cid:272)ould"(cid:448)e been employed will suffer even more. This is seen as a grounds for justification. One is usually considered not to be entitled to simply transfer the heavy burden of the risks and costs of the nuclear power plant onto other uninvolved parties. The nuclear power waste concept is similar to the train case. There are no known safe ways to store nuclear waste and the more, the worse. Very toxic to us and the environment, huge risk if exposed and future generations may also be heavily exposed. The future world may be of the one that is hugely depleted of natural resources, so the addition of toxic waste will only amplify the environment sustainability problem.
