Document Summary

Agenda for today: prove the existence of god. Key words: number, form, order, measure, wisdom, good, being, immutability. There is no good in the world that does not display some kind of form, order, measure or number. Nature displays order, form, measure and there has to be something wise to create such a thing. Things that a perfect don"t change (immutable) more perfect=less likely to change. When trying to prove something superior to human reason, augustine uses number (truth of numbers) Numbers stretch to in nity but our bodily senses cant see in nity only reason can understand it thats what only reason can comprehend numbers. Numerical laws are unchanging, reason is changing (sometimes reason is trying to search for the truth other times it is not) Numbers are superior to reason, and there is nothing superior to numbers therefore he proved the existence of god.
