Propositional attitude is a mental state that is about a proposition; are either true or false. Its essence will be rst person authority as it is a mental state. Descartes is not saying that god exists he"s just saying i have this idea in my mind: that god is a substance that is in nite, independent, supremely intelligent, and supremely powerful. Was taught by the jesuits and they taught scholasticism. Distinction between types and kinds of realities: objective reality is if it exists in the mind and is the object of thought. Formal reality is the existence outside the mind. Types of causes: formal cause if it is as real as its effect; and an eminent cause if it is more real and more perfect. Unicorns have objective reality; horses have formal reality (aka they exist outside of the mind) Argument for the existence of god and its called the causal argument .
