Greeks saw institutes as rising and falling but couldn"t stop it from happening. Prior to this civilization was justi ed by religion. Once you knew how social institutes worked you can improve upon them. Class power obligation authority all questions they asked. Poly life was now understood as reformed as action between individual and individual and their environment. Greeks understood freedom as absence of arbitrary. Rules of reason comes to replace rule of superstition. Greeks never went to priest for advice they went to a philosopher. Used to go for advice from delphi. Know thy self and nothing in excess. Those who practiced healing art were magicians, greeks called their healer physicians. Individual used his power not to escape the world but to sink himself more deeply into it, to greeks outside world was real and something to be understood on its own terms.
