Classical political thought was unable to extend beyond the existence of the polis once the polis was taken over, the thoughts of classical philosophers became irrelevant. - their theories were too closely tied to the assumption of the context of the polis. The political thought of plato and aristotle struggled because it was strongly political, and their understanding of political was directly linked to the polis. This association served needs that no other association could. - politics is innate in human nature: it gives someone a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a sense of morality. It was reflective of a part of the individual"s life that he lived in common with other men. It was a comprehensive association holistic it consists of a measurable contribution made by its members.
