For existentialists, the problem of freedom is a practical problem that we must solve for ourselves. They seek to show people that they are free to open their eyes to something that has always been true, but for one reason or another has not (yet) been recognized. Men are free to choose, not only what to do, but also what to value and how to live. There is a missionary sense to existentialism. Readers of existentialist philosopher are asked, not merely to consider the nature of human freedom, but to also experience it (in the way they live their lives, make choices, etc. )
