Excited: incoming stimulus travels to sympathetic nervous system, causing bodily arousal, travels to cortical areas of brain, causing awareness of emotions. Schachter and singer two-factor theory: emotional experiences require a conscious interpretation of arousal, our physical reaction and cognition can create memories, perception and memory.
