With continues use, the brain stops making its own endorphins. Cocaine: norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine agonist (blocks reuptake, can end up with chronic, permanent depression, formication: sensation of bugs crawling under your skin, psychotic episodes, violence and aggression, convulsions. With continued use, damages serotonin producing neurons (this has been proven in human and animal studies)
