There is a genetic component associated with addiction. Some drugs are more addictive than others (e. g. crack cocaine) Method of administration e. g. injection = higher dose delivered. Younger aged individuals are more susceptible to addiction. Some studies have indicated that men are more likely to become addicted than women.
