Slow children are like normal ones but retarded in mental growth. People compared to others of same age and 100 = average iq. Devised a scale to measure ability to reason. Distribution of iq is that of a normal curve like a bell curve. Most people are at 100, extremes are the least at the edges. Most characteristics measured in a large amount usually peaks at the middle (ex. 68% (about 2/3) of distribution: between 85 and 115. 96% of cases are between 70 and 130.
