Women are most likely to be employed part-time; 65% of part timers are women vs. 45% men: also have lower pay and less advancement. Stay-at-home moms consider homemaking to be a legitimate career but it has no pay, training, advancements, vacations, bene ts, retirement savings, or job security. Women"s expectations include both career and family: time blind ; when a working parent resents their spouse and children for demanding time, including women in high prestige, demanding jobs. High school students have similar career aspirations across ethnic groups. Full time employed women earn about 80c on the dollar compared to full time employed men. Women comprise 48% of the u. s. labour force. Concentration in female-dominated occupations, especially for women with strong gender role beliefs who are seeking things they value (i. e. the chance to help people) Jobs that are traditionally done by men tend to be more valued than jobs done by women.
