Hippocampus is responsible for making short term memories into long term memories. Pkm zeda = crucial for long term memory. Long term memory involves anatomical changes in the brain. Includes the study of both humans and laboratory animals. Major challenge is to develop methods for studying both normal and abnormal behavior.
