(reaching for what you want, wish fulfilment- if the desired wish isn"t available, the id will imagine what it wants for temporary satisfaction (dreams) Primary process- pleasure principle, wish fulfilment, reflex action. The id is what we have at birth. Reality principle actions designed to satisfy the id, however take the reality of the situation into consideration. Reality testing- learned through the environment we are brought up in. Test reality to see if its ok to satisfy particular impulses.
