Lecture 1 - introduction to psychology (part i) (january 13. 4 steps that need to be achieved, if anything goes wrong in the steps, you won"t be accurate in analyzing personality. The process (4 steps: analyzing information, ex: interviews for graduate school trying to look for red flags, relevance: important because it matters if a behaviour has to do with a given trait. Ex: to judge whether someone is extroverted the person has to do a behaviour that can show extroversion or introversion: availability: you have to be able to see the person behave in a certain way. The more information, and the better quality the information, the more accurate your judgment: judge: the person evaluating another person"s personality and behaviour. People who are more agreeable, less critical and more understanding: the nicer you are the more others will show you their behaviour. It is shown that nicer people are better judges.
