Research ethics: concerns the responsibility of researchers to be honest & respectful to all individuals who are affected by their research studies or reports of studies results. Researchers are governed by set of ethical guidelines that assist them to make proper decisions & choose proper actions (consider exs on pg 108) Researchers have 2 categories of ethical responsibility: responsibility to ensure welfare & dignity of individuals who participate, responsibility to ensure public reports of their research are accurate & honest. Any research introduces questions of ethics & this cause the researcher to have control over individuals participating in study. But they have no right to abuse this power or to harm participants physically, emotionally, etc. Reporting of research also introduces question to ethics. Reports are accurate so if there is something that jeopardize this is an ethical issue. Researchers responsibility to protect their participants from harm but not all were committed to that ethical treatment.
