They combine an information function with a communication function. Traditional/old media: newspapers (we are linking the newspapers to the technologies that have enabled their production), radio, and television. They represent a form of one- way communication. The process of information exchange is enabled by icts using these platforms which are built upon the internet. What characterizes mass media is a framework of information that comes from a source and goes out on a mass scale. Sociology is the study of all things social such as the part of our humanity that underscores our behaviour: love, family, work, and most centrally, society. As we go through our lives, we aren"t compelled to consider the meaning of society, but we might imagine a different context.
