Color associated w/ mars & aries (greek gods of war); war englames passion; Red the color of blood & thus, color of passion. Ex: pink is less strong red & less strong than love; green heart = love of irish (march) Increase: light it on full mood or biggest moon; if limited time, light as close to midnight as possible.
