What do you do once poi is found. Poi found during line search: search indicators e. g. indicators. Carefully delineate areas for each person to work: ownership/accountability. Spatial control for photography: reconstructing scene for court. Grid: cover poi and adjacent area. Does not need to grid entire burial area unless not sure of extent of poi. Will anything be left in place (in situ) for photography and mapping: e. g. deadfall. Clear from perimeter tape to grid 1st. Remove leaf litter systematically: l to r, front to back, outer to inner grid units. Backfill halo = remnant of dirt where fill from hole was placed: outline with coloured string, use different colour to outline grave. Time to gear up for excavation tyvek. Latex gloves (double & tape to tyvek: to prevent dirt/biohazard from getting in. Extra hot in suits: take breaks, remove hoods. Bisect grave and backfill halo along long axis: use flagging tape (not yellow)
