Document Summary

We insist language is objective: all words get their meaning from difference. Humans automatically put people into categories: examples, kinship, boy, american, middle class. They are not objective: when human interaction occurs, we claim that we have the same reality as the other person, because of common cultural existence, one expects a response that makes sense. Example: when someone says (cid:494)hello(cid:495), a (cid:494)hello(cid:495) is expected back: language: we assume we know what a word means, example: i know what (cid:494)hello(cid:495) means.
