Document Summary

Jargon: the crudest attempts to communicate when people have no common language. Pidgins: used the most where there is slavery. Made up of shared words and rough grammar. Adults use pidgins in their own ways based on their native language. Ridginization: made up of at least 3 languages. Leads to discrimination because the people are too stupid to speak properly . Creole: children develop it (the native speakers of a pidgin) It"s an expanded pidgin, a more advanced language but simpler than older languages (somewhat simple) Happens in areas of extreme migration & trade relations: e. g. North and east coasts of south america and north coast of africa. As it gets older, it gets more complex. There is a true local culture, especially where there is a dominant minority. State can regulate, modify, and make the creole an official language. The language is slowly changed from generation to generation.
