Parents spoke english more at home, and less vietnamese. When she went to high school, she was fluent in english, and eventually lost her vietnamese: ex: anne came from germany, but her family wanted her to speak only english. Spanish but didn"t continue: ex: hassan grew up in pakistan speaking mixed of urdu and english. When speaking with peers, he often switched between languages.
