Anthropology, Popular Culture, and Everyday Life
-Culture Terms and Concepts
-the author in the textbook has said that the definitions are a blur in the text
-the terms are used in a different century (19th century)
Culture
-culture is the primary adaptation of survival not through physical, size of our teeth
-this is how we adapt to the world

-terms we are using are redefined by people through history which is part of the
process
-popular culture are historical novels that are supported by industrial technology
that is geared towards large audience located anywhere

this is also called oral culture or folk culture
or sometimes public culture terms is used
Everyday life
-term important for anthropology because you are studying everyday life
-they are not being driven by myth
-society is constituted by routine behaviour and experience
-routinization is a important aspect of maintenance of culture
