Dark are better adapted to environment that is polluted. Evolutionary adaptations: inherited characteristics that enhance an organisms ability to survive and reproduce in a particular environment. Depends on diff env to see diff chance of survival. Evolution by pollution: evolution of heavy metal tolerance in plant species. Plants in area are subjected to heavy mines all vegetation (plants) die b/c intolerance to toxicity of metals.
