Extra hours to be added for tests & exam. Term test 1: 25%, jan. 30, 2014 ib 120. Introduction to the course: course organization: communication, textbook, etc. Regulation & mechanisms: what is physiology, homeostasis: negative vs. positive feedback, controllers: nervous and endocrine system. Animal physiology: is the study of how cells, tissues, organs and organ systems function in living organisms. I want to emphasize that the route by which we can strive toward the ideal is by a study of the vital functions in all their aspects throughout the myriads of organisms. Such studies will be sure, moreover, to expand and deepen our insight into problems of the human kidney and will prove of value also from the narrowest utilitarian point of view.
