First 5 days (3-5 days) is shedding of the uterine lining to renew the cycle menstrual phase. This is to get rid of the preexisting endometrium of the uterus. Then in the proliferative phase, the ovary is maturing the follicle. Prepares for the arrival of the fertilized egg. Day 14 is the day of ovulation. If cycle is 28 days, you know that the mid cycle -14 days is the day of ovulation. If the period occurs at 30 days, subtract 14 to know the ovulation day. After ovulation, there are 14 days for the next cycle. At the time of ovulation, because there is a rupture of the graffian follicle.
