The medical data that is collected can be transferred onto the app vs. you carrying all the data from one location to the other. They may want to refer to the textbook (the book is really big), having an online app to read the textbook (by paying a subscription fee) is more efficient. Have communication with the patient using an app. Ex. tell them about a surgery by using a 3d image on app to relay the procedure.
