Description
Experiment #3 Name: Lab Section #: PRA0117 Pre-lab Questions 1) Increasing the concentration of HCl will not affect the reaction. This is because the metal that is used to react with the HCl acts as the limiting reactant which limits the volume of Hydrogen produced. However, if the concentration was reduced by diluting the HCl, it will affect the results. In this situation, the HCl will act as the limiting reactant which will cap the amount of products (H 2nd H O)2as long as the volume remains the same. 2) Changing the acid from HCl to H SO will not affect the concentration of H produced. H SO , 2 4 2 2 4 despite being a strong acid, turns into a weak acid when one of the Hydrogen dissociates from - H2S
