Declaratory judgement is something that is legally binding, usually in a civil case, but it doesn"t award any damages and it doesn"t require the parties to do anything. It is just to make a statement - to affirm precedence. Advice parties of their rights to clarify things. Summary judgment is a judgement when a judge dismisses a case because there is no substantial issues; it is a dismissal. Default judgment is rendered whenever a party fails to do something, mostly because someone did not show up to court. If you don"t show up to court, there are penalties. Actual damages have to do with losses suffered (loss of property or harm inflicted), it compensates someone for harm suffered. An award based on the monetary value of a harm suffered. Punitive damages are about making an example out of somebody, it can go above and beyond actual damages.
