News continue to portray a world in which men outnumber women in almost all occupational categories, the highest disparity being in the professions. Very rarely, something is said about their family. Ideology: a chain of meanings, beliefs, values and their representations. Assemblage: a range of co-determinant ideologies competing for legitimacy in a particular socio-historic context. The social imaginary- the dominant ideology that emerged in any given period. Ideologies are reflected through culture, and like ideologies, culture evolves over time. But since culture is the veil through which we see the (cid:449)o(cid:396)ld a(cid:396)ou(cid:374)d us, it"s also the filte(cid:396) through which we express deeply rooted ideological meaning.
