Designs changes, culture changes, but the core elements are pretty much the same. Personas are an unique structure of a character (one person). They must all be different as possible, so you can cater to their needs and goals. When you are creating personas, these personas are created with research (interview people in the grocery story, online survey, talk to strangers and family members, talk to experts) - research background, not made out of thin air. Product, website, mobile app, clothing should and will include a ux process. Layout: colour, structure, format, design, adaptive, lighting, images.
