The use of "diaspora" has been proliferated in the last decade, its meaning has been stretched in various directions. The contemporary discourse of diaspora studies / khachig tololyan. Through diaspora are ethnic, by themselves not so much. How the terms are conceptualized re define old understandings and reconfigure power. Disciplines: humanities; social science; self-representations; world wide web; initiatives. Because they do not meet the criteria set out. Because their ancestry is diaspora, so are they. Some may not identify or categorize themselves with the diaspora: homeland orientation. They are oriented toward the homeland and eventually return. Diasporas don"t want to go back to homeland. Groups may decide to close themselves off to maintain solidarity. A lot of give and take with their host land. Some are hybrid and have fluid identities - however still maintain specific boundaries. Coexist these two and is wrong to separate. Or has the world been transformed: was always a small number of people moving.
