U. s. : 25% of energy use, but 5% of world population. Global consumption of fossil fuels has increased greatly in recent decades. Fossil fuels include oil, natural gas, and coal: fossil fuels, oil, natural gas petroleum, coal, petroleum formation: shallow marine environment, coal formation: terrestrial swamp environment.
