Document Summary
How it happened, and the circumstances around it. Not an exact science, cant give exact position of shooter of victim but can come up with reasonable explanations of the event/ a best fit scenario. One chance to process the scene correctly, after they are done processing it they will start rebuilding the scene, document it, and submit it for peer review. Muzzle-target distance: how far away from the victim was the shooter (close up, distant, etc. ) Position/orientation: did the suspect deliberately aim at the victim (looking to prove with reconstruction) goes towards if it was intentional or accidental. Position and orientation of victim: where were they, how were they sitting. Number/sequence: how many shots were fired and where they were from, order. What shots came from what shooter at what scene. Any intervening material between muzzle and victim (did it ricochet off of an object before striking the victim)
