Famous for trading: trade: had harbors, cedar: Extremely valuable for construction for buildings and ships. Could be quite demanding with the price. Wrote about it in the bible: purple die: intense colour, never faded or ran, gave the alphabet: one letter per sound. Note: greek word byblos (city in territory of phoenicians) (cid:3241) word for book (cid:3241) bible.
