Coucher: favored nobles were allowed to watch the king put on his nightgown, feed his dogs, etc. and get ready for bed. Used to create insecurity with the nobles. Had to stay in fashion, buy luxuries. Kept them from raising their money by wasting it. The sun was unique in the universe at the time, like the king of france. Shone light on stars, like he did.
