Agriculture had never been as dependant on wheat as alberta. Part of canadian shield mining for minerals: alberta beginning to distinguish itself from other two with oil and gas. Had been least populous and prosperous, but that changed. 41-71 pop. increased by 30% o: politics: divergence of saskatchewan & alberta. Population of alberta doubled (more in urban rather than rural)
