African diaspora includes people who came directly from africa, people who are descendants of slaves, and newcomers. 1502, 20 million slaves were brought to north america; despite the civil rights act, they don"t begin to count themselves as equals in the us. Ghana has become a tourist centre, and most of the people who go there are on a search to ind themselves. Generally they don"t ind it, and the ghanians are very conscious of who the slaves were and who the royals were. Descendants of the slaves are looked down upon because they are the low class and the losers of african society, but they are envied because they sill got to go to the us. Malcom x made a fairly signiicant atempt to grapple with your idenity. Chrisianity was forced on black people, and then that was used as a mean to oppress them.
