Document Summary
Different people in the empire have different privileges. In the modern state, it"s an accepted thought that we are all equal (even though that may not be the case) Therefore people were expected to fight and die for their nation. There"s the idea that if people were willing to fight and die for that nation, it is a better nation than others (thus racism) Dropping the nuclear bomb was a symbol of the war, but was not necessarily the most decisive of the war"s outcome. War in this modern case was no longer about occupying territories and getting resources (soldiers going after soldiers) It is really about going after the civilian residents, the population. Japanese soldiers/japanese were being shown as superhumans or subhumans. Narrative of japanese soldiers as rapists, taking away a white woman. Japanese depicted as smaller humans, depicted as being domesticated , tamed . Japanese depictions of the us are showing the us as demons.
