Morphology is the study of the structure of words, the units of mining that are used to construct them and the rules we apply to combine them. Similarly to combining words to make sentences, we can combine morphemes to make words. Example: cats = cat - s cat refers to singular s refers to more then one (plural) Lets take a look at the following words under museum unbelievable redo walked. Mono morphemic are words that cannot be broken down. Cannot be broken down as while un may be a morpheme der is not. This is because it has no independent meaning and no other words are formed with der. Free morphemes are words that can stand on their own in a sentence. Bound morphemes are words that attach to a base, known as a xes. Note un does not attach to nouns but rather adjectives.
