Prayers in church that god would look after the soldiers and encourage them in their patriotic work . They wished to be strong and confident, and to crush the foe. During church prayer, an old man walked up the aisle and stood beside the preacher as he continued with his morning prayer. When preacher was done, the man took his place and began to speak: he claimed that he was a messenger of god and that god heard their prayers. As you wish for a blessing upon yourself, you are also cursing someone. Created in response to the bombing of guernica, a basque country village in northern spain, by german and italian warplanes at the order of the spanish nationalist forces on apr. It shows the tragedies of war and the suffering it inflicts upon individuals.
