Non-Democracy: A system of governance in which rulers are NOT (This word changes the definition
from democracy to non-democracy) held accountable for their actions in the public realm by citizens,
atig idiretly through the opetitio ad ooperatio’s of their eleted represetaties
Authoritarian regimes:
- Leaders: unaccountable
- Competition: little to none
- Democratic procedures: manipulated
- No democratic bargain
o Winners change the rules
Different forms:
- Single-party state (Russia)
- Military dictatorship (Egypt post-Mubarak)
Totalitarian regime:
- State captures all space (both public and private)
