-What is Politics?
•how different states relates or don't relate to one another
•how different people compete for power
•how people accept their rulers
•rules government has laid down
•Ex- not accepting of leaders or govern ship - Russia, Greece, Syria, Egypt
•politics comes from above, below clash of these two
- What is the state?
• things associated with the state- sign of authority, show inﬂuence of government,
governments hand in each picture, all types of institutions (trafﬁcs, laws),
•state has a hand in all of this
Why study the state?
•since 1648, we have been living in a state central world
•Canada, France, Germany, Britain - have problems with dealing with non state places
•ex- symllia, pallistian, ﬁrst nation, status, claim (what they want from the state), ics
•we are ordered around states
•all treaties and agreements are centric order and are in it
•states anchors domestic order
•Ex- olan does not get to put up the spot sign
•do not have the authority to do so
