Introduction: greek philosophy before socrates (the presocratics), in the 6th century, greek think he was revolutionized. These thinkers are the philosophers of the ionian or presocratics: they were generally dissatis ed by myths in wisdom. They wanted to write pros instead of poetry. From then on, poetry is the language of myth, pros is the language of inquiry: the wisdom of poets is not true, famous examples, the gods are like us (homer). These philosophers began to investigate the natural world. They outlined the underlined basis of the cosmo: they worked through observation and produced protoscience (natural science), philosopher pharoclidis claims all things are in ux and all things change. Presocratics, socrates, plato believes this: presocratics: senses only give rise to gnome. True epitome comes after opinion and gnome are overcome; go beyond our senses to know the clear grasp of the world: greek philosophy before socrates (the sophists), sophists were professional teachers who taught for money.
