Unitary government: britian , france, algeria, bangladesh, japan, scotland?- National governments have more authority- governments can get rid of smaller governments i. e. thatcher and mayor of london. Two governments lie on each other but they are distinct. Two governments that are mixed together- overlap in jurisdiction national and state government. Federal governments have more money than the state governments. States cant regulate their trade because it is a collective action problem- states would ry to undercut each other. Always been used to change the way the federal and state government interact with each other. Commerce clause: invoked in a way thats very vague and paves the way for more cooperative federalism in a way that the us has never seen before- solves collective action problems.
