Structural studies, concentrate on media organizations and systems. Basically ownership and how its put together: 2. Cultural studies, analyze meaning and language: 3. Behavioral studies: focus on reactions, perceptions, effects of media on audiences. When we use each of these 3 diff methods to look at the representation of islam in western mainstream media, unfortunately we find a negative portrayal.
