Locatives create nouns that refer to places. -dom is usually attached to adjectives, creating nouns. Sometimes it creates nouns by attaching to nouns. Abstract affixes create abstract nouns: -ion, -dom, -ment, -al, - hood. Negative affixes attach to adjectives and they give the opposite meaning, ex. un-, in-, non-.
