Hobbes would agree with there is no absolute good; each person"s good is what they desire. Hobbe"s view is that friendship is good for me because (and only if) i desire it. Outside the commonwealth- the rule is taken from each person. Type of good- the different kinds of good and evil: promises good, it is delightful and the means for that which is pleasant (useful) Is hobbes defending the view that we are motivated only be self-interest. Hobbes is most likely to agree with the concept that the happiness of another person is good for me if i desire them to be happy. Will is the last passion before we act. All human action intend to promote the guarantee of satisfactions of all persent and future desires; human beings differ only in what they desire and what they believe. Once a desire is satisfied, a new desire must emerge.
