Document Summary
E. g: if you call a person stupid during the argument rather than attempting to disprove their argument/claim. Does not state that the argument is bad, but instead criticizes the person making the argument. A relevant claim is a claim that makes it more or less likely that the conclusion is true. Either proving or disproving the argument the other person is making, rather than criticizing the person arguing themselves. The argument fails because it omits information relating to whatever category. The argument is wrong because your gpa is lower than mine. Premise 1: donald trump is racist, sexist, and unscrupulous. Conclusion: therefore, his policy on immigration is wrong. Although, the premise is true is not a relevant enough argument to prove conclusion. The correlation between premise and conclusion is not relevant enough to prove claim. Premise 1: decriminalizing marijuana will create more good than harm. Premise 2: we should do things that create more good than harm.
