The right to vote and the distribution of seats: in our liberal democracy, the basic principle is one person one vote. Mp"s based on specific territorial locations: opov is also known as representation by population. It implies that all of your ridings represented by mp"s should have more or less, they should all have the same number of people. If not, you"re violating one person one vote: those with a larger population would have a more diluted value in their vote. In the context of the parliamentary system, all ridings should have more or less, the same number of people: we are a federal country, which means we have separate provinces. Mp"s: however provinces were created and people were implemented within them so our share of mp"s had declined, the west (consisting of 4 provinces) now consists of more seats in the house of commons than quebec. One person one vote is the obvious criteria.
