Davis: made decision to extend d full funding to catholic schools through to grade. 13 hurt miller and the conservatives in rural ontario. May 2nd 1985: conservatives lost their majority. 1985 provincial election in ontario: conservatives: lost majority, but largest # of seats in provincial legislature, whereas liberals + Ndp together over 50% of seats (73/125: election: conservative leader miller stayed on as premier & was entitled to do this under the conventions of responsible government.
